catch-up

Well, I am behind on blogging and the pictures are piling up on my computer so here's a recap of the past 2 weeks...

Had a visit from this cutie! My sis, brother-in-law, niece along with my brother-in-law's parents (visiting from France) came for a visit and it was a lot of fun as usual. Besides how much we love to spend time with everyone, it's also a great opportunity for my kids to practice their french since Jinette and Jean-Pierre do not speak english. Leah and Jillian loved spending time with Alicia, and Kyle enjoyed playing ping-pong with Jean-Pierre and Uncle Sam!

Elves have been busy cleaning out the garage for winter, putting bikes away in the shed and most importantly getting the lights up, yay!  Now I just need to finish getting all the inside Christmas stuff done.

Procrastination is my middle name.  Which is why even though I painted and reorganized this room a year ago, I have only just now hung up artwork on the big blank wall.  I bought the picture frames oh about a week after painting the room.  I set them beside the couch until I could decide exactly what to put in them.  And they sat.  And they sat.  In fact they sat there for a whole year!  But I finally got my butt moving decided and now they hang on the wall, yay.

Kyle participated in his very first Mathletics competition.  He was one of the youngest competitors and the teachers thought this would be a great experience for him to participate to prepare for some serious competition next year.  Well wouldn't you know he came in 7th out of 45 kids in his age division (grades 5 & 6).  Way to go Kyle!

And of course no week is complete without lots art projects by my girls.  They are always ready to get busy with new projects.  Painting has been a favourite lately.
