snow day!

In our school board they often cancel the school buses during bad weather, but the schools remain open.  Normally I'm the mean Mom who says "schools are open" and drives my kids to school.  But when we woke up on Friday morning to a big dumping of white stuff I decided it was time for my kids to experience a true snow day and get the day off from school.

making muffins...chocolate chip oatmeal muffins to go with their hot chocolate to warm them up after all that snow play

hot chocolate with frothed milk, marshmallows and chocolate syrup

(made at home means a fraction of the cost compared to the fancy coffee store version!)
