This is hands down, the most used toy in our house.
We started with a small box of duplo lego when Kyle was quite young. And gradually added more over the years. The kids build zoos, houses, towers, airplanes...you name it, they build it. Here are Kyle and Jillian over the years...
Here's one of my favourites because it shows Jillian's beautiful curls at age 3 which were absolutely adorable.
It is the only toy I can think of in our house which has consistently been used on a regular basis.. It has always been on the mainfloor (most toys are eventually sent to the basement playroom). I found it very useful to keep around once Jillian was born because it was safe for her to play with and Kyle was still interested. Then as Jillian got older it was still in regular use. Even as Kyle moved on to the regular sized lego, with his intricate sets that require an engineering degree to assemble, he is still always willing to play this toddler sized version with his little sisters. In fact it isn't unusual for me to find Kyle and Jillian playing by themselves, with no toddler in sight!
We even have a Lego game which gets quite a bit of use. You turn over cards to collect the pieces you need for your animal card, then once you have all the pieces you race to build your animal first.
Leah has followed her big brother and sister's footsteps and taken quite a liking to Lego, even from a very early age
I really don't see an end in sight. This green box is ever present on our mainfloor. Most often opened up with various lego pieces scattered around. We may be saying good-bye to babyhood in our house, but the baby sized Lego still has many years left!
