pictures of Leah

I've heard about the theory of the more children you have, the fewer pictures there are of the last child.  A theory which doesn't hold true for this camera-happy mommy.  When Kyle was born we had a basic 35mm point and shoot.  We took lots of pictures, had them all developed (with doubles!).  When Kyle was 2 years old we bought our first digital camera.  Oh man, I was in love...I get to take tons of pictures to get the right one and only print the ones I like...loved it!  Once Jillian was born there were even more pictures taken.  And I used to get them printed regularly for scrapbooking (ha, I'm currently around the 6 month mark in Jillian's first year scrapbook...which will be finished...at some point).  I have since given up on printing pictures until I am ready to start a project with pictures, or need some recent ones to put in a frame.  In fact I have moved onto digital scrapbooks which is why I currently have this blog...my daily account so I don't need to go back at the end of a year and remember everything.

In the past few years I've started to really love taking pictures.  I'm no expert, and I still just have a canon point and shoot.  But I do enjoy snapping away.  At some point I'd love to take a course to learn how to take really great shots.  For now I just weed out all the not-so-great ones.  There are many as I tend to take a lot of pictures trying to get the one I really want.

And this brings us to my third baby (who isn't a baby anymore!).  As you can tell from this blog I take a lot of pictures of the kids.  I do make a point to take some with each child on their own, which means lots of pictures of Leah.  I don't want her childhood to be chronicled only with her siblings.
These are pictures I took one day as I grabbed the camera every time I saw her doing something cute.  These are taken 2.5 weeks post-surgery, the blood clot and her black eye are almost completely gone. There is only the tiniest mark from the incision which I'm sure will heal over time.

First I took some of her in the hallway to get a few pics of her in this cute dress as this was her first time wearing it (she has become rather picky in the clothing department, much like her big sister).

Then it was time for some funny peek-a-boo and jumping in the backyard.  Once we came inside she spent some time at the craft table colouring and cutting up the colouring book (her new favourite activity).

And finally, onto playing with the lace up beads, intently working on threading each one.

This is just one day of picturess with Leah. My adorable third child who will have just as many pictures (if not more!) as her big brother and sister to look back on one day.
