Kyle started walking just before his first birthday. Right on track, that's when a lot of babies start to take those first steps. Jillian had to one-up her big brother and started taking those tentative first steps at the age of 9.5 months. Well, along comes Leah and she isn't one to be outdone. So at exactly 9 months old she was taking her first steps. She had been cruising along the furniture at that point for quite a while, and standing all by herself balancing quite well so I knew it was close. I was even lucky enough to be able to catch those first steps on video
Once she started she didn't stop. Here is Leah less than 1 month later, just a few days before turning 10 months old. By this point she was a confident walker and walking was her main mode of getting around. As you can see, Leah did not have much hair. And Leah was a little on the small side for her age, around the 25th percentile for height at this age. Combine that with her early walking and I would get plenty of staring and comments from people when out shopping while she was walking along beside me without assistance.
Holy cow!!! What a great walker and so early, too!! So very cute.
