last day of Christmas vacation

It's the last Friday of the winter break from school.  Jeff is officially back at work and has started a new school course.  We had a crazy day yesterday in our house with lots of visitors, so when I came downstairs this morning I announced it would be a quiet pj day (yes, I slept later than all 3 of my kids...gotta love having self-sufficient kids).  The girls and I are still in our pjs as I write this, but Kyle did get dressed in order to go outside and practice on his rip-stik.

Last night was a fun night with Leah...that girl sure is lucky she's so darn cute, it makes up for the long night.  Want to know what's better than your 3 year old peeing the bed in the middle of the night?  Your 3 year old crying for you, then just as you pick her up she pees...and manages to get it all over the floor and you along with the bed...excellent!  After getting everyone changed and Leah settled into a freshly changed bed I was happy to get back to sleep.  But only for about 15 minutes because Leah woke up crying for a stuffed animal which was 3 millimetres away from her arm.  Then another 10 minutes later because she was hungry (I got her back to sleep after assuring her I'd get her a big breakfast in the morning).  Another 15 minutes of sleep and then back into Leah's room to hear her say something about being measured, and then mumbling "I don't have a mumblemumblemumble-tac!!!".  This apparently was causing her great distress and she wouldn't settle down until I told her I would absolutely get her one of those in the morning.  Finally the crazy dreams settled down and she slept for the rest of the night.

After finally getting some sleep we are now having a great day...leftovers from yesterday's lunch and dinner made for an easy lunch, Kyle is enjoying some quiet time reading and playing DS and the girls have created an elaborate imaginary game.  It involves our large blanket being a boat, the rug is an island (where they periodically need to go and complete a puzzle in order to continue other activities), the hardwood is water infested with crocodiles (they can cross only if hopping on the heads of the crocodiles), the boat is loaded up with colouring supplies and books, and my very favourite part is Leah addressing Jillian as "Captain".

The Christmas decorations are all put away, even the tree which is now in it's storage box for another 10.5 months.  Now we just need to see when it will make it's way down to the basement storage room, although it does seem to make a good puzzle place.

I'm working on the loot bags for Jillan's friend birthday party tomorrow, I'm making a princess castle necklace and heart bracelet for each of the girls.  Once these are done it's onto baking cupcakes!
