Vacation part deux...Wasaga Beach

After Montreal/Quebec City we made it home for one evening and left the next day. Just enough time to throw a bunch of clothes around (i.e. frantically do laundry and re-pack) and head up north to a cottage for some relaxation.

The cottage we rented was amazing. In a little community with playground, mini golf, pool, splash pad, small mini lakes including a cute little beach. All of these things were within 1 minute of our cottage, seriously it was amazing. There is also the large beach at Wasaga where we also spent time, it was a 10-15 minute walk for us.

The kids had so much fun playing on the beach and splash pad (dig in sand, jump in lake, rinse off in splashpad, repeat). Also the small lake behind us provided a perfect spot for catching frogs, fun! We bbq'd dinner and ate outside, had campfire almost every night (with s'mores of course), and just generally had fun relaxing and spending time together. We had some rain but that's when the nice cottage with tv and cable came in handy ;-) Although the rain didn't completely dampen our activities, we did manage a game of mini golf in the rain.

There's lots to do in the Wasaga Beach area...we did go karts, toured the scenic caves in nearby Collingwood, and visited the candy emporium (the kids earned money to spend here by cooperating for a beach photo shoot).

Our first campfire of the week...the s'mores were yummy!!
Jillian and Kyle loved this bucket dump in the splash pad
