Let's go to the Ex!

It's Canadian National Exhibition time in Toronto and we decided to take a trip down on opening day.  Because it was a Friday the crowds were light, and opening day offered some great deals on admission and ride tickets.  We managed to enjoy a full afternoon and evening at the CNE for under $100 for our family of 5 (parking+admission+ride tickets+dinner+snacks).  I was impressed with our savvy family day at The Ex!

The kids loved seeing the huge midway.  We ended up skipping this part for rides and going to the smaller rides in kids world for our under 54" girls.  Although Kyle kept one of his tickets to ride the huge slide ride in the big ride area..."really awesome" were his words.

We saw an amazing ice skating slash acrobatics show which included skaters (including olympic medalists), acrobats, dancers and trampoline.  All 5 of us loved the high quality show.  Next up was the Superdogs show.  These dogs are really amazing and I love the tricks in the show are based on what the dogs themselves...jumping, racing and chasing frisbees.  40% of the dogs in the show are rescue dogs who've been trained by their new owners.

Leah's ride of choice...she didn't want to do the ferris wheel with Kyle, Jillian and I but really wanted to go on the Dizzy Dragons (I on the other hand can handle heights but not spinning)

The ferris wheel...my favourite because I love the view of Lake Ontario and the T.O. skyline

Farmer Leah liked the farm building

Dinner in the food building (so.many.choices).  Some of the choices are beyond even my sweet tooth...deep fried twinkies?  deep fried oreos?   No thank you.  But I did need to get my Tiny Toms cinnamon sugar donuts, yum.

Overall a great (and budget friendly) family day at The Ex!
