Montreal Biodome

We visit Montreal several times a year, so my kids are familiar with most of the family-oriented attractions.  The Montreal Biodome is a favourite for all of us and we hadn't been there in over a year so it was time for another visit.  This time we brought Alicia along to enjoy the fun (although keeping up with her 3 big cousins was tiring and she ended up having a nap in her stroller).

Biodome fun fact...the Biodome is located beside the Montreal Olympic Stadium in the building which was the velodome during the 1976 Olympics.  With our trip happening during the Olympics, which my kids are actively watching, the kids found this fun fact interesting.

Tropical rainforest

Yes, my girls have large bat-like ears.  No, they don't like to talk about it.
Kyle happily being eaten by an alligator.  Or a crocodile?  I have learned the difference many times and still can't remember.  Note: in an actual alligator/crocodile incident involving my children, I would intervene and seek help before grabbing my camera...most likely.

Laurentian Maple Forest.  If you look closely in the picture below you can see Leah in the background sliding like a sea otter.

The Gulf of St. Lawrence...I would not recommend going into the gulf for a swim because from what I saw there are some crazy looking creatures swimming around in the water!

my favourite area...the Labrador Coast (doesn't it look like we are looking out from the deck of a ship?)

wondering were Alicia is during all the fun?  on a side note I had almost forgotten how useful it is to have a stroller along on a field trip...so handy for hanging bags and holding my camera!

Sub-Antarctic islands otherwise known as the penguin exhibit

Indoor rainstorm!  Plus in the background you can see the water area for walking, only a few inches of water which gave the nice effect of my children walking on water

The hands-on exhibit area with lots of fun things to explore...my kids love hands on anything.

Overall another successful family outing.  It was a lot of fun having Alicia along (she didn't sleep through the whole visit...we were able to get her out and walking around).
