Christmas vacation has begun

We kicked off the holiday vacation time with a fun family day.  The kids are done with school for 2 weeks and Jeff is on vacation from work.  The day started with lots of snow fun outside.

After getting warmed up and having a snack, we headed to the movie theatre to watch Elf.  Even though it's an older movie none of us had seen the whole thing, just bits and pieces on tv.  It's a cute family holiday movie to watch.  Even better is the movie theatre showing these older movies at a discount, only $2.50 admission each.  After the movie we headed across the parking lot to Boston Pizza for lunch (another deal since I had a $50 gift certificate).  A movie and lunch out for a family of 5 only cost us $30, not bad!

Kyle headed to his friend's house for a sleepover birthday party.  The girls and I rolled up our sleeves and did some baking.  Shortbread for Christmas is a tradition I remember from when I was a little girl and I love being able to bake with my girls now.  Some crafts for my crafty girls (inspired by Buddy's own decorations in Elf), then it was pjs and getting cozy on the couch to watch Beauty & the Beast Enchanted Christmas (I was a bit too cozy, I dozed off during the movie).
